Our Publications
Kulturalism CIC creates plain-English handbooks and educational resources on prison, reintegration, county lines, criminal exploitation, knife crime and community safety. Every title is our own original work.

Our publications are not written from theory. They are built from lived experience, primary research, and years of frontline work — in courts, in communities, and alongside the people directly affected by the criminal justice system, including offenders, victims, and their families. We combine that practitioner knowledge with verified law, official statistics, and the honest accounts of people who have been through the system themselves.

Some of our titles are practical handbooks. Others are narrative works — stories written to help readers, particularly younger audiences, understand a situation through the eyes of someone living it. Where a story can reach a young person more effectively than a factsheet, we tell that story. We create characters in everyday, real-life scenarios so the reader gets a clearer, more human example of the person and the situation they are in. These narratives are works of fiction: the characters are composites, inspired by real experience but not based on any single identifiable individual, and names, places and details have been changed. Woven through them, where it helps understanding, are the real laws, offences and consequences a person might face — so that a reader not only follows the story but recognises the risks, understands the situation they may be in, and learns about the support available to them.

Whether practical or narrative, our aim is the same: to help people avoid crime, understand the system, and find the support that exists. We write honestly, in plain language, for the people who need it most. Our resources are educational, independent, and created in the public interest.
