How Do Officers Treat You?

Officers run the practical things that shape your sentence — movement, visits, applications, getting you seen by healthcare — so how you deal with them matters. What helps: be civil and consistent. Most officers are straight with men who are straight with them, and a steady working relationship is what gets an application moved or a problem flagged early. Your personal officer is there to take your questions. The hard truth: wings are often short-staffed and officers are human — most are decent and doing a hard job well, a few are worn down. A request can sit a while through sheer pressure of work, not spite. Being reasonable improves your odds; chasing politely is fair game.
